Something sweet...

Been a longg time since i lost posted something, well here's a sweet post for 2012!

Last sat, i wore a pair of boots to a holy matrimony, thinking well i'll be in air-conditioned place, should be fine. But, it was SO SO hot.

While we were enjoying the lunch reception after e ceremony, I was asking YQ is there anywhere he wanna go or have anything to buy after e lunch. He replied "I need to buy a pair of shoes"...and i was asking "are u buying for yourself? your brother?" And he said "for someone who needs a pair of shoes" And, that's me! :p

And i got a new pair of wedges, abit costly $90! And he said he'll pay for it, buy it for me.

So sweet :P hehe...

Really think i'm so blessed with a very sweet bf who loves me very much! <3 <3 *thankful!*

very thankful to God.

for his unfailing love and care.

at times, naughty girl whines a little, to get a little more attention.

and he always gives his best to her.

A New Day

witnessed the opening at Suntec last weekend.

at the first svc, as i stood there, i am once again reminded of how i placed my life at the altar, how passionate i was, and how much i surrenderred my whole life to Him when i first came during Hollywood days.

& i want to come back to the heart of worship, of just knowing Jesus, of loving what He loves, being passionate for what He's passionate for.

give me a new heart, for the new day.

earnestness. dilligence.

& what is my cause....

i remembered that it was always in my heart to raise up a generation who is not afraid to sacrifice for the Lord, a life laid down for Him.

and as i look back, indeed, those who stayed through are ones who love the House of God, and their lives are sold out 100% to serve Him.

and yes, i wanna raise up a generation whose lives are set apart for Him, using their gifts & talents to serve Him, fulfill His purpose, with a strong love for Him & His House.

not by might or power, by the Spirit of God.

back to worship, prayer, word.

Pastor shared, many hearts are stirred but what marks one different is the Reponse of Faith to that stirring. Help me Lord to be one who steps out in Faith, not just one whose heart is stirred.

are we willing to serve even if we dont get the rewards?

are we willing to love knowing there's a risk of not getting anything back?

are we willing to be taught, given advised to...

i want to be, willing.

because i know what He is looking for is, willingness.

but God, i still want to serve You. still want to lay down my life for You.

yet, yes i know i've grown. from being confident of my faith, to being confident in You.
that i know You will never fail. You will never shortchange. You are my Father, provider.

We can never fully understand another until we grow up...

A child can never understand how a parent feel, till he grows to become a parent one day

A disciple can never understand how a discipler / mentor feels, till he grows to think like a discipler / mentor

so no wonder the Word says, a servant is not above the master, it is enough to be LIKE his master.

They are never perfect, yet they chose to give their lives and love us inspite of our imperfection :)

Situations don't change us, it's how we think that changes us.

we all have to desire to grow up, to think like a parent, a mentor/discipler.

i pray we all learn to understand the heart of our mentor, our master.

We all start off with simplicity of heart, as a child is birth.

- simple thoughts, simple heart, simple faith and love.

as we grow up, we face different challenges, disappointments, or happy moments that often shape our belief system, that in turn affects how we react to situations / people.

to keep that simplicity, and to stay on the right track that we were created for,

it takes us to guard our hearts by

the Word of God and the Holy Spirit

- to teach us the ways, to instill the right values, to give us the wisdom to make the right decisions

too often than not, instead, we allow circumstances to shape our beliefs instead.

as such, we result in allowing the wrong or sometimes bitter things to corrupt that simplicity that we once possess.

Friends, let's not nurse or curse the hurt, but let God and His Word heal our lives. to bring Christ into culture, to bring everything back to His original purpose, it first starts with self - renewal.

Renewing our minds, refreshing our hearts with the Word and Holy Spirit. to bring ourselves back to His original intention and purpose.

when it comes to people who have disappointed or not met your expectations,
communicate, share and pray over it with each other. ask Holy Spirit to give you the grace and strength (enlarged heart) to forgive, let go and love again.

when it comes to disappointment with what's happening in our lives,
strengthen ourselves in the Lord thru His Word because He who has begun a good work in us, it is guaranteed that He will complete it. so when we dont breakthru, just keep walking because God is the one who guaranteed the success. without murmuring, complaining, yet strengthening ourselves in the Joy of the Lord to keep walking, God is in-charge.

the focus isnt on the miracle, or the way out.

the focus is on Him. even when the miracle doesnt happen, yet i will still rejoice, be happy.

and that is wisdom.

wisdom to go through the storm, not just to get out of the storm.

temptations are not from the Lord, but it's us being enticed by our own desires. and we need His strength to overcome temptations.

to be slow to speak, but quick to listen. to His word, what He would say.

as i sang "cos it's all for You Lord...", it hit me. because yes, it's really all for You, everything that's done.

i can say, i've loved the best i know how, and it's really out of genuine care. sometimes, i may have failed, sometimes i could have shown more love or given more, but each time, have given my heart.

and, i'm tired of hearing "it's superficial."

tired of seeing faces that give the cynical look.

because no matter how much is done, it will still not be appreciated. and "thank you" sometimes really don't mean much.

gratitude is seen by what we give back after what's been given.

maybe before we "judge" others as superficial, let's first evaluate ourselves?

And. God looks for a servanthood heart.

Talent cant bring us anywhere. a "good motive" heart cant bring us anywhere, till we have the right value of servanthood. to be 1st, one must first be last, to serve.

i may not be right all the time, but what God looks for is your heart of servanthood, that qualifies further.

serving - not doing with our own motives in mind, but to be able to serve e other. Not my will, but Yours be done.

sometimes somewhere along the way,
when hurts, discouragements haven't been dealt with in the right manner,
we may allow the "weeds" to start growing, and sometimes not even realising them.

they can become our defense walls - that may not be helpful for us.

at the beginning of this year, i spoke to one.
reminded the party of the values we were discipled in, that were our fundamentals, and must continue as our fundamentals:

being teachable,
accountable.

Like Jesus says, to be taught, we must first want to be taught.

spoke to another last night.

a familiar sentence came "maybe as we grow up, how we value things change"

true. yet, are we valuing things in the right way, in the open, teachable, humble way. Or, we've allowed values to be shaped by circumstances, not by His Word.

it's disheartening at times, to see how one used to be open and willing to be taught, yet now, holding on to one's thinking. so, what can i say? how can we help? if there's no more chance to listen. because when one's totally blind, it's hard to bring one back to where should be.

submission - the key to promotion.
teachability - the key to growth.

and i'm learning too.

that involved a lot of "breaking" on the inside

Faithfulness is the cornerstone of character.

- constancy: stability, consistent, steadfast
- loyalty: firmly attached to someone, quick to stand for the cause or for someone
- submission: willingly yielding, giving, offering oneself to an authority, willingness

God commits to character, not talent.

Moses was chosen, not just called, because he has a proven character.

God looks for a broken heart and contrite spirit, and these He'll not despise.

all it takes is a willing spirit, and God can turn nothing into a possibility. because He's more interested in our character than in our comfort.

proven faithfulness is what leads to being called.

recently, got to know of a friend who's been through many heartaches that you would never have known until it's been told. her drive, her passion, her love for God n pple, just amazes me.

and it also teaches me, all it takes, is a willing spirit.

and it doesnt even matter if whom we serve is perfect or not, because we ourselves arent perfect. all we're called to do, is to follow and obey. because what God looks at is a willing heart.

everytime i see her, it humbles me, to be more willing, to be serving. no matter how tired i am, i've to keep on going. no matter what i face, i have to keep pressing on. no matter what's ahead of me, i cannot give up.

and i'll look to Him. His grace is sufficient, He's God almighty, He can do all things.

once again, thank you for the privilege of being able to serve.

watched an amazing show. the scenes of an amazing woman.

the capacity of her heart, to go beyond, simply cos of her compassion for the child

yes, we all believe, one can make a difference.
we've watched it, been inspired, touched... and more.

yet, who... who will lay down their lives for the one person?

and i love her "strength". the inner strength.
to stand up for who she loves.

the confidence she possessed. the boldness.

the Word given for the year:

Joshua 1:16
Then they answered Joshua, "Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go."

what an apt Word shared last night, and it confirmed what He spoke and placed in my heart.

the heart of a servant, and an even higher level, the heart of a bondservant.

to raise up Followers (heart of a bondservant).

the disciples left their nets/boats, to follow Jesus. because Jesus in 1 night, "released" them from their burdens, empowered them with freedom. meeting their needs.

and Jesus left them with 1 and only condition, that they would love one another.

Followers - who will follow and run after the Vision.

having the right attitude of a bondservant - it's enough to be like my master.
a desire to know the heart of my master, to follow the footsteps of my master, to obey unto the Lord, to mature - to be like Christ :)

to have a broken, contrite heart. Psa 51:17, Isa 57:15

and we follow, we obey, we serve because we love the Lord. and God is our rewarder:)

"it's been a tough year for many"

this statement... and yes, this year has been a tough one for many, and as a body.
many painful struggles, many cried their buckets.

"overwhelmed, cos knowing deep in her heart, that the breakthrough is coming, and it's gonna be a long while til she's back again"

and yes, i believe for the greater things to come.

it was an awesome night.

thankful for all the sacrifices so painfully laid down. in ways that many would not even be able to fully comprehend or know.

inspired by the love they have for Him and others.

and we never know, the seeds that we sow, can bring life to so many.

nothing changes much. and the result changed hardly, or even worse, decreased in productivity/results.

and now, we give in to the "reasons" for why this and that cannot happen.

sooner or later, we lose the energy & totally gave in to the reasonings.

and now, we ask ourselves "why are we doing this? maybe this isn't the time, maybe this isn't the vision"

wow, no wonder Jesus tells us to "lift up our eyes"

very often, we are not breaking through cos we have been too inward-looking.

a fren shared this today, "who doesnt have problems? we all have"

and that hit me. how true.

all of us face problems.

yet, are we going to allow ourselves to be consumed by the problems, or can we be like what the Word says, to just sow?

And what makes us differences as believers, is that in spite of our challenges, we sow. what makes us different, is not so much about our "achievements", but in our attitude.

when we have lack of time, we sow time.
when we have lack of finances, we sow finances.
when we lack the strength to go through challenges, we strengthen others.

So, are we standing out in that?

Burdened. why are we only thinking about ourselves?

"for whatever a man sows, he reaps. in e same measure we sow, in the same measure we reap"

and that's why the happiest pple arent those who are most successful in career etc, but those who have learnt the principle of sowing & reaping, of giving rather than getting :)

yet, with much great desire, i want to be like David.

it entails:

what you love, becomes what i love.

and that means:

what you dislike, i will dislike.
whomever is not within your fellowship, will not be my fellowship.

and at one word, i will sacrifice my time, my own life.

eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the earth, looking for one whose heart is loyal towards Him. and He will show Himself strong on behalf of those who are loyal.

He doesnt see our circumstances, he looks at our attitudes.

what's our motivation & satisfaction coming from?

fun with fellowship, or fulfilling His purpose?

Jesus says, "im busy about my Father's business"

and that's why the priority & purpose of the church is to Grow, Make Disciples. out of that, fellowship takes place.

in the last days, men will be lovers of pleasure, lovers of money & lovers of themselves, Or lovers of God.

we need to get back the right FOCUS.

why are we doing what we're doing...let it be for the eternal purpose :)

so, are we growing...are we making disciples?

so very often, we miss out and take for granted the "mundane" things in life that we've been blessed with.

the very breath that we have.
the very opportunity to live out this life.

yet, because we're living in the "blessing", we often do not realise how blessed we are.

and that is why, having a heart of gratitude always is so important.

Often, we forget...

it's Him who has given us this life.
it's because of Him, we have what we have.
it's because of His beautiful creation, we get to enjoy people & lovely things.

and so, we just need to pray more, depend on Him more, lean on Him more, love Him more.

something that struck and impacted me:

what does it mean to be a ransom for many, a slave to all?

that is, our life is not our own.

our career belongs to those above and under us.
our family life belongs to them.
our dreams belong to them.

we are held accountable to both those above and under us.

so, how we live our lives, how we present ourselves, what we speak and do, we have to be wise and mature. to be an example.

because we are responsible to all.

our lives are the living testimonies, above words n speech.
